I Never Saw Another Butterfly
As part of our Holocaust presentation, some 8th grade Nightingale students performed a play that showed the hopes, dreams, and daily activities of children in the Terezin Concentration Camp.
Butterflies Project
These butterflies will be sent to a Holocaust museum in Texas to commerate the death of 1.5 million children during the Holocaust.
what I learned is that they killed and harmed many people and kids. they also exterminated 1.5 children and 3 million polish and chatolic people by Nazis and also 5 million non-jewish were also been exterminated by the Nazis.
ReplyDeleteBased on the video i felt anger flooding through my vains.I wanted just getrid of the nazis.Like the real problem was the nazis not the Jews.The pictures were very bad and full of deaths which i felt very badfor them.Like the nazis really deserved to die!

ReplyDeletewhat i see on this video is how they tourchur jews in the video and this women see how thenazis grave the kids and they puling hiting the kids and she saw a bunch of women try to stop them and then she dicides to help them and another was geting separe from his family and he sees a little girl in front of him so little and he dicis to help the little girl and see how they tourchur this people its just crull to tourchur this people for no reson and you see on this video that they point them with guns on the head on of them were lafing like it was a joke milions of jews wer kill more children and milion catolics and polish when i see this it just get some thing on me that i want to help those pore people thats why after the war people did not have no simpati for germans for doing this to kids old people womens men and other type of people this juist make me soo sad it givis me motions that i feel like crying when i see the images the videos the books and it just make you so intresting that you want to see more read more write more
ReplyDeleteThis video made me mad. It made me mad that the nazis killed millions of jews and millions of non-jews. The other thing was that how they killed them by shooting them on the head. The other part that was wrong for me was that they shaved the beard of the jews and just throw them on to a truck so they can be put to work. You could tell by the looks of the jews that they were living in h*ll.
ReplyDeleteThese images are both scary and terrifing . All I saw in those pictures were saddness death and misury. Not to mention only few survived. All the rest were shot , killed by sickness, or send to gas chambers. I can't belive they did that. Here I am happy living while they lived a life of mortal terror.
ReplyDeleteWell I fell sad because the jews were treated badly they were hanged and shot on the head and some were hanged by their hands. some were exterminated because they looked jewish but they wernt some were polish and some were catholics. it makes me kind of mad because just because they look jewish it doesnt mean they are one.

ReplyDeleteThe one picture that really caught my attention was the one with the little girl or boy on the floor. The reason that it caught my attention is because people would just laugh when they were beaten or shoot. The people ( JEWISH ) were tortured by Hitler.
ReplyDeleteWhat I would feel about the video about the Holocaust is that I would feel very sad when the Jews would end up being dead for no reason. I would also feel like that because the Nazis should not killed these kinds of people. What I would think about the video is that the Nazis should of not killed those people and should be punished after what happened. The woman would say lot of things when in the camp of how they looked liked, how they suffered and other horrible events that the woman would see during the Holocaust.

ReplyDeleteThe video was both emotional and life changing for both victoms and viewers. It shows us how many lives were taken by one man and how it all could have been prvented. The Nazis didnt show any respect to the people they killed they treated them like trash. Over five million of the victims werent even jewish they were polish or catholics.
ReplyDeletewhen i saw this video i felt really bad because im imagining what if we were the ones in the holocaust how would we have felt scared?or what?how would we have felt if the peple we loved died ?its just sad.i had read in the video that i think it sayed that 1.5 children wew murdered during the holocaust.i also read that over 5 million non jewish victoms were murdered by the nazis during the holocaust and also 3 million of those victoms were polish and catholics.i also felt bad when i saw that little girl and the bunch of people laying on the floor dead.i also saw the people how their bodies were formed like really skinny.
ReplyDeleteWhen i watched this video with Veronica, We started to...laugh. I Laughed at how the nazis were cruel. The pictures were really emotional and horrible. They had people with guns to their head getting excuted and hanged. it was really really cruel. But i wasnt laughing only vero. The pictures were HORRIBLE:(.
ReplyDeleteAfter watching the video I felt bad for all the Jews being killed. I felt bothered seeing all the dead lifeless bodies on the ground. I can't imagine being a Nazi soldier and laughing while carrying a person's dead body. They must have not had a heart at all. Based on the woman's statement I think it was brave of her to try helping the other Jews being taken away.

ReplyDeleteWhen i saw this video i really imagined us being like this because it really makes people cry who survived and what i thought about the lady was she was very brave of what she said and what really made me think of the video was that they killed so many people that some weren't even jewish they exterminated so many kids and some were hunged and so many people died this war!
ReplyDeleteThis video could open the eyes of many people to the horror that Nazis caused. The Nazis had no respect for anyone them being women or children. There wasnt much pity to be expected from them. People who tried to stand up for others were arrested or sent to camps aswell it didnt matter if they werent even jewish.

ReplyDeleteAlex Brady saw a truck being loaded with Jewish children from a Jewish home.In the video they show a child who is about 2yrs old.She saw kids laughing and joking around and thats when she decided to become active. They also show thousanths of people who were killed. Soldier are being mean + aggresive and poiting the gun @ other men. 1.5 chil;dren were murdered during the Holocaust . About 5million Non-Jewish victoms were murdered by the Natzizs.& 3million victoms were polish and catholic.
ReplyDeleteHere's what I thought about the video. I thought it was sort of brutal what they did to the Jews and non-Jews. They were hanged and shot and other stuff. The woman in the video said that 2 women stood up against others and the were taken in the trucks. The pictures in the video that were showing the people being hurt and killed by the nazis made me think that the nazis were pure evil.
ReplyDeleteIn the video, the woman talked about when she was walking to work and saw children being dragged away by the Nazi soldiers. They were dragged by their feet, hands, and hair on to a truck. Two women saw what was happening and tried to stop the soldiers, but they took them too. Seeing what the women did made her want to stand up to the soldiers too, and she did. In the video, you could see the cruel ways they killed people. They would shoot them, hang them, or put them in gas chambers. I think that it wasn’t fair that the children were also taken and killed. They didn’t understand what was going on and they weren’t involved with the war.
ReplyDeleteIn the video the woman saw the soldiers mistreating children & she told them something about it. The video was about how children were being mistreated, just because they were Jewish. Millions of people died who were Jewish, & non Jewish. I thought that wasn’t cool, cause it wasn’t there fault, that they believed in there religion. The way the soldiers treated them was unfair and cruel.
ReplyDeleteBased on the video i saw, was that alot of people where dieing for hunger. Over 1.5 million children exterminated during the holocaust. Over 5 million non jewish people were exterminated by the nazi during the holocaust. Their was lots of art work in the ground when the jewish did before they were taken away. I think The holocaust is really important because people die, and it a large nunmber of deaths.
ReplyDeleteBased on this video I felt really sad because all kids and adults where thrown in a truck. Many kids were killed even if they were not Jewish. I though of the people who laugh at the people getting hit or killed. Why would they do that. The woman saw how they were. I felt bad what is I was of those would be killed? How can those people live based on there parents dieing. I cant imagine those pictures I saw. How they were shoot for being Jewish. I cant even believe what they if they were just them. that’s not fair.

ReplyDeleteIn the video, they showed pictures of children being mistreated. They would show how they were killed. They were hung, shot, or would put in a gas chamber. ReplyDeleteIn the video you could see the faer in all the peoples eyes. They were all scared and didnt have a choice. Seeing that video was really sad. The way they were treated was bad. Nobody deserves to be treated that way. They didnt have a choice but accept it. The picture were the people were pilled on top of each other was scary. I cant imagine seeing people like that. Especially just because some were catholics.

I thought it was so devistating seeing all those pictures of how the Nazi soldiers were killing the jews and how maybe some of those kids could of had grown up to become someone like albert einstein or other people. ReplyDeleteWhile watching the video i felt sad & bad for the Jews to get taken away and get killed. I also thought that this is a horrible way in which they killed the Jews and made some family members suffer. I liked it when the women decided to stood up and try to help the people that were getting hurt or taken away so they can get killed. So the women that talked changed from a bystander to an up stander because at first she would just watch and see how the Jews would get hurt and get pulled/kicked so after watching that she decided to stand up and help.

It made me feel sad because i mean everybody is human the nazis shouldnt have killed those people that look like jews or were jews because thats like being raices.It was very sad how they had the dead bodies they didnt even burried them some were just there ontop of other dead bodies which is really wrong becaue they are already dead seriously. My feelings toward this is that those people who killed this people didnt deserve to live for doing all that its like they didnt have a heart or feelings it was just horrible.
ReplyDeleteIn the video Millions of Jewish children were killed during the Holocaust.Some were threatened by Nazi soldiers.They pointed their guns in their faces.Some were hanged.She saw a truck being filled with jewish children.Two woman tried to hit the the German soldiers so they wouldn't take their children,they were also thrown on the truck.As soon as she saw the children being treated like this she decided it was time for her to become more active.As she saw Nazi's laugh as they collected the Jewish children.
ReplyDeleteThis video made me feel really bad because important jews that were inventors might have done something good for the future but now only some jews lived to make that possible.Also how the germans laughed at the children when they were grabbing them and taking themm to the concentration camps.Then the nazis laughed at the jews when they were suffering in they concentration camps also they laughed at them when the germans shot at the jewish people.That was very sad when alot of children died just of hungerness and torture.Also many innocent people died in the holocaust like the polish and other countries to from around there.The good part was that americans came to russia and help defeat hitlers men and the germans.

ReplyDeleteWell, what I saw in the video was briefly on how the holocaust was expressed on the victims. There were pictures on how the extermination was produced, on what the victims were. The victims of the holocaust were including the lives of children, who had no action in fighting back. The children were innocent, they were the most vulnerable in this era. Also, the woman explained how the children were mistreated and abused to death, and a bystander expresses how he saw people being dragged into their own death.
ReplyDeleteWell I wasn't really able to understand the woman speaking but what I did notice was all the torture that the people were put on. Women were hung, children were killed and families were seperated. It was so horrible watching that. While they men were hanging the people some were laughing and just having a good time. The time of the Holocaust was a horrible time in history during the world war.
ReplyDeleteWhat i just saw is really messed up! The Nazi soldiers treated the Jew like animals, like if they were nothing when they were human beings. Alot of them got hanged, & shot. The woman in the video, describes how Nazi soldiers will be out in the sidewalk, laughing and joking around. That they would pick up the children by their hair, arms, and legs & throw them in the truck. When she seen that she decided to take more action. The image when theres people around a pile of dead bodies makes me really sad because all those people had moms, dads, maybe even children, & all those people suffered cruel death. Thats really messes up.

I feel overwhelmed with anger towards the people who led this, its just wrong. Just because were all different doesn’t mean we should all be treated differently
ReplyDeleteI think more people should have stood up for these kids and everyone else they were taking away. It makes me feel disgusted how she said that they would take the kids on the street that never did anything to them or anyone by the hair and throw them in the car. I don't know what I would do if I would see that happen. Maybe be scared to do something about it like many were, but I know I shouldn't. These were inocent kids that had nothing to do with their problems. But these soldiers were cold hearted and didn't care.
ReplyDeleteSeeing this make me realize that how the Nazis treated the Jews really bad and even children would be on the grown laying dead and these Nazis would laugh at them as they lay dead not letting them rest in peace even when they are already dead. ReplyDeleteAccording to the video i saw i want to learn more. The Holocaust has always been my topic. When i saw the part were they find all those bodies it shocked me. More than 1.5 million people in the Holocaust. Imagine how many families were taken apart from each other. I felt sad.

ReplyDeleteThe video was pretty sad because people tried fighting for their lifes and they really couldn't do anything about it. All the Jews wanted was to go back to their normal life and forget what was happening to them. Children that were innocent died either hanged, shot, starved, or by a disease. The lady in the video watched how all of this happened and no one did anything about it which I thought was pretty sad because if they all( Jews ) put their mind to it they could have stand up for themselves and defend what they loved most. Like the lady said in the video someone had to take action. I agree with the lady it was insanely horrible how those people died!
ReplyDeleteWhile i watched the video y felt sad to see how these people were treated.Like the part where the men where on their knees and they were about to get killed..and behind them the men pointing their guns at them where laughing and smiling.I also felt sad because a lot of kids got killed and even people that were not jews got killed.Or the part where dead bodies were laying on the floor and people where just looking at them that made me sad too see how many people suffered during that time and it must have been the worst feeling they experienced.
ReplyDeleteI found the second picture very disturbing because they just keep dumping people in that big whole, not even giving them a proper resting place. I don't think anyone now a days is used to that, or respects the past. And I saw that those were a LOT of people. &the picture with the little kid on the street, dead, I think.
ReplyDeleteI feel very sorry for them to have gone through this. I wish I could of help them some how. It breaks my to see people stand in front of their dead loved ones not being able to say goodbye to them properly. Then frighten to see so many corpses to think that they are next. I think that it s great that the woman in the video decided to take more action after the Germans took the two woman onto the truck. I feel sick every time I see dead bodies on the ground. How dreadful to think that dead body could have been a part of your family or friend. Although I wish I could stop this before it happened at least I know that I will never let this happen again.
ReplyDeleteIn the video I saw many Jews waiting by a train track. Then I saw people walking by a dead child without even looking at him. Even worse there was a big piece of land full of dead Jews. I also saw Jews getting shot in the head and other Jews being hanged. I also saw an old lady talking about her experiences and by what she mentioned kids were thrown into trains and if you tried to fight back or defend other people you would basically get killed. I felt that the Jews should take revenge and do the same thing to the Nazi’s as they did to them.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, and many others, I believe that the holocaust was a great loss of lives; evidently. I know many people who died were not just Jewish. What I imagine is that what if one of those kids that were brutally murdered became another Albert Einstein; who was a Jew. Einstein was the father of modern physics, I think that one of those kids had the capability of also becoming the father or mother of a great creation.

ReplyDeleteI couldn't understanding what the woman was saying. But watching the video made me upset. The nazis killed over millions of Jews. Jews and non-jews were put up thorugh all that pain. How they were hanged and tortured. Also how the nazis would shoot jews right on the head. Children couldn't resist and died. It makes me realize that the time of the holocaust was a terrible time for jews.

ReplyDeleteI fealt sad as i watched the video because in the pictures they showed there were a lot of people dead and were just placed in wholes.I think that as sad because they were all just placed in like nothing and families might have been looking for them but they werent able to find them because they didnt have a proper place like a tomb.Also another picture that i think was sad was the one were there was a little kid on the floor and people just passing by him with out helping him .
ReplyDeleteHonestly i feel bad for the kids that were being killed. It's not fair for them. They were inossent. If i was alive at that time i would of made my own speech to stop that. More than 1.5 million people were killed. I cant imagine why they did that or how. The video is very sad.
ReplyDeleteIn video I saw how he Nazis treated the Jews really bad and even children would be on the grown laying dead and they would just smile and laugh. In the video I had saw the Nazis man with the gun on the heads of the Jews men and they are laugh that them and smile like they do not care on what they are doing to the poor people that had not done anything to anyone or to them. I am happy that the women in the video had stated to stand up and doing something about it because of what she saw. If I was her and I saw the same things look at poor children and people on the street being throw like they are toys in a trunk. I would have done the something and for her standing up to people that would kill her for that she did amazing thing that only little people had done. I saw that those were a lot of Jews people. The picture with the little kid on the street, dead, that made me realize how the Nazis people could have done this and not care. It makes me sad and hurt see people stand in front of their dead loved ones. The people looking that them and knowing that they are going to be next to die and looking how they are going to die. The man say that there were 2 sides to be on and the people on the left were never seen again and they just disappear like nothing. This made me sad by just looking at this happened and knowing that this happened in real life
ReplyDeleteWell i learned that alot of little kids were being killed by the Nazis. I feel bad because they were killing innocent kids, even adults for no reason. Kids were being thrown at the streets after they had killed them like if they were nothing. I think what the woman did was good because she stood up for those kids that couldn't do anything to fight for their lifes. more than 1.5 million people were killed.
ReplyDeleteI was amazed of how the nazis killed 15 million kids,5 million non-jews 3 million other people it was just sad how the human race let this happen.they harmed all those people for no reason other than the fact that they were jews, or any other person who made germany look bad.It was just amazing
ReplyDeleteThe nazis killed over millions of Jews. Jews and non-jews were put up thorugh all that pain. How they were hanged and tortured Also how the nazis would shoot jews right on the head.Children couldn't resist and died. It makes me realize that the time of the holocaust was a terrible time for jews.

ReplyDeletei dont know why this people let the nazis do that to them if there are alot of jewish why they dint try to do some .the nazis did a big history by doin this but i feel bad for al the little kids that dint enjoy there child hood just kus of one culture or/ rase just kus they think there better than some other people.jewsh people would never foirget this and that bad because they have to remember al of the past
