I Never Saw Another Butterfly
As part of our Holocaust presentation, some 8th grade Nightingale students performed a play that showed the hopes, dreams, and daily activities of children in the Terezin Concentration Camp.
Butterflies Project
These butterflies will be sent to a Holocaust museum in Texas to commerate the death of 1.5 million children during the Holocaust.
Fall is the best season of the year or atleast that’s what I think. When asked 70% of the people say that fall is the best season. Fall is the best season because most people think that it is a hassel to carry heavy coats around when in winter but in Fall you just need a small jacket. Most people think its annoying that when its summer it is really hot and they can’t find a way to cool down but in Fall you are already cool downed and you just have to wear a small jacket. The janitor from the school says “That fall is the best season because it is when all the leaves start to fall it looks real nice.” I think Fall is the best season because I only have to wear a small jacket, the leaves start to fall down it is pleasant to just look at it, and its perfect for me to go outside and play a little bite.
ReplyDeleteI would say that Fall is the best season because it's so pretty to look at. The beautiful leaves falling down the trees, the colorful pop of color that fills the ground. Fall is not only a beautiful site, it has awesome weather. By that, I mean that it is not to cold, nor to hot. The whole fealing that Thanksgiving is coming up, and knowing that sooner or later you're going to be with your family. Plus, for kids who love going out to play, they could easily play in the leaves, or run in them. Even some animals might like it, because they also could play in the leaves, and it also makes it easier to look for spots to use the bathroom on. But, for the parents/adults, they might get frustrated by the fact that they have to rake the leaves. For me, its a mixture of feelings, but I mostly love the fall. Of course not a lot of people like the fall, and many others do, but every one has their own insight, but its all up to the type of person they are!
ReplyDeleteFall is the best season because it warm for the first time in months. All winter it was 30 degrees and lower. Finally its 60 degrees and up. People get to go outside and get a mini tan. You get to go to the beach again. According to one Nightingale student he likes spring because “it’s not too hot but not too cold”. You get the perfect warmth. You’re not burning up but you’re not freezing. It’s just perfect. Also a big reason for me is because my birthday is in spring so I have something to look forward to. 50% of children gain weight in the winter and 60% of those kids are able to lose it in the spring. So spring is a good time to lose weight because your body is exposed to the heat for the first time in months. Personally, I love spring.

Even though I smelled like leaves for a while. Then I like that its never to warn or to cold in the fall. Not like in the winter or in the summer..
ReplyDeleteOne day I remembered of seeing dead leaves flying everywhere. With the cool breeze taking the leaves from place to place. Trees everywhere naked and cool wind going up in your face. I remember a daymy friends and I were “pickin up” the leaves. Instead we put them in pile to jump in. The pile was huge you just couldn’t wait to throw yourself in it! I was really excited and thought to myslef it was going to be a good day! When it was my turn I jumped high and when I landed on the leaves, it felt uncomfortable though it was really fun! Fall is the best season because it’s a season families and everybody can enjoy having fun! I think it’s a nice season able to enjoy!
ReplyDeleteFall is scenic, that’s one of the reasons its perfect. The leaves dropping is picturesque because you could watch them fall for hours and not get tired of it. For instance 75% of the autumn day I spend either raking leaves or wathing them. The other attractive thing about the autumn season is the color of the leaves. The leaves change color because of a chemical that makes it green, during the autumn though, the chemical starts to fade and they turn red, orange, brown, and yellow. 40% percent of the leaves are half colored, like red and yellow, which means that they still had some of the chemical left and did not turn completely yellow. This is one reason why I love the fall,(besides it being the season of my birthday!) and I really think it’s a season of photos. I see some photographers taking pictures of the fall, because it really is picture-worthy. People might like other seasons for their reasons. The majority of people like their birthday season best. That’s why the fall is scenic.

I think Fall is a great season because it’s a season when all the leaves change color and it’s the season when you can play in the leaves with friends and family while waiting for Winter to kick in. It is also a senic season because a season it’s a season where it isnt to hot and isnt to cold. According to a nightitrngale student “I like fall because it is a season when I get to be with my friends and just be with my friends during break”. I actually agree with this nightingale student, becuaes it is when kids can be with their family and friends. Some kids are usually on break during the fall for 2 weeks or so. According to another nightingtale student “ Fall is a wonderful season because its when all the leaves start to change color”. I think it is a beatiful as well to see the leaves change color becuause its like the world has changed its surroundings. That’s why I think Fall is a senic season.
ReplyDeleteI remember I was out of school because Halloween was coming my 3rd favorite holiday. I went outside about a week before Halloween and I saw the leaves from the trees they were falling down very elegant like. They were many colors such as red, orange, yellow, brown they were very scenic. This made realize that fall is the best season because it looked scenic and fun to play in. Some examples are like when you have pile of leaves and when you are done you jump in them or have leaf war. (A leaf war is when you gather as many leaves as you can, then you grab some of them and attack your enemy. The game is won when one person gives up or the person that still has leaves wins and the other that doesn’t losses.) Most of all about two holidays are in the fall Thanksgiving and Halloween and others I might have forgotten. My little brother says that he likes fall because of all the things I put on this “thing.”

The water looked like it was the stage and the leaf acted like if it was a dancer. The air was blowing at the leaf but as it was blowing the leaf twirled around the water.

It changes because it has to and because fall I think it’s cool because it changes the color of the leaves and because when you rake the leaves when they fall down from a tree if you want you could rake the leaves into a pile and then you could jump on them. Fall is one of the main seasons there are like the other ones are winter, spring, summer, and fall. Fall time it can get very cold and chilly it’s like winter but it doesn’t snow the leaves just fall. I like fall because I like to see the new color of the leaves and because sometimes it gets cold then warm then it goes back and forth that is why I like fall. Sometimes I don’t like it because when it rains the leaves get wet and then if you jump on them you will get wet. You can see the beautiful scene everywhere and you can play and don’t have to worry about having a scarf and or gloves with you and you don’t have to worry about having an a.c or fresh, cold water in the fridge cause fall isn’t hot or cold it’s just the right temperature. This makes me realize that lots of people like the colorful leaves on the ground and the little on the trees. This shows how fall could really be fun. Another reason why I think fall is the best season is because it has awesome color leafs. Just like us were very different and uniqe we all got different things even thought some humans are twins. This reminds me of when my mom and I were cleaning the leafs and only a few were green and the rest were a different color. When we finish we would put all the leaves together and then jump on them. All I could see is red, yellow, brown, and orange colors everywhere. When I would rake the leaves all I could hear is the loud “crunch” they would make. ReplyDeleteOne reason why Fall is the best season is because it is scenic, it is scenic because you can just be outside and play with leaves, or just walk outside. My brother always says “I love Fall, because you can just go outside with a sweater, and like Summer its like you have to go outside with no clothing because it is so hot outside!” This makes me realize that Fall is a great season because you can be a little cold instead of beaing so hot and sweading like your on fire.
My second reason is that you don’t have to have a struggle putting on your air condisiner, and plus it wastes money, because you have it on all day. Parents normally like Fall the most because they say that its not a big deal about it, it is less expensive because you do not put on the air condisiners and with those on you have them on everyday and parents complain that it is expensive at sometimes. One person said “Fall is awesome, because you don’t sweat a lot, like in Summer and family members complain a lot about the electricity bill.” Says Matt Toka. This makes me realize that people complain about the electricity bill too much, because of air condisiners.
My 3rd reason why Fall is best season is because in Summer a lot of people get lice in their hair. One celebrity said “I remember every Summer when I was little I would get a bunch of lice in my hair and my mom would like waste a lot of money just to buy the shampoo for lice, and I learned you should take a shower everyday in the Summer with cold water.” Says Christian Coma, drummer from Black Veil Brides. This shows that not a lot of people like Summer because they get lice in their hair, and it is maybe hard for them to take them off, it maybe takes you about 2 months to get all of them off!
Fall is the best season because it is scenic, you don’t have to struggle putting your air condisiner, and you don’t get lice in your hair. Mostly people are like in between Fall and Winter as their favorite season. They maybe like it because Summer you get a conflict and it is solved when its like Fall or Winter. You pay more on the electricity bill because people put on their air condisiner, and then they will start yelling. 3rd it sometimes gives you lice in your hair, just the drummer, he struggle with lice when he was a kid, and his mom wasted money on lice shampoo. These are the reasons why Fall is an awesome season.
One time that I worked hard was on sewing something for my aunt’s dog. The dog needed something to wear because it bearly has any fur. I tried tried and tried to sew it I finally had it, it really looked nice. I put it in my mom’s closet because I know it wouldn’t get lost. Few days after I had to go to my aunt’s house. I looked im my mom’s closet and didn’t see it. The look on my face was really upset, after so many hours sewing. I was never to sew ever again.

As I saw it getting warm in the oven, I noticed that the crust was getting hard and crispy. My godmother made another pie. She made apple pie with the cinonm spices in it, the warm apple slices in the pie made my tongue water. It was nice making pie in the fall. The squirrels are looking for nuts so you see a lot of them outside. The trees looked really amazing how the trees changed and you hear the sweet sound of the bird’s song. So when you think about it all the colors and the shapes of leaves make artwork in nature in its purest form. You just don’t realize what beautiful place and we want nature for a long time. It looked like as if it is raining instead of boring and dull white, it was colorful. I then saw the tree in front of my neighbor house, so me and my friends went under the tree. The best part of it was that the leaves where falling down and it was like a shower. This shows me that sometimes it looks comfortable when leaves fall because it can look colorful and pretty. Another reason how fall is scenic is that 94% of children say that the color of how it looks including leaves looks marvelous. I ask my dad that the leafs of the tree were falling. But then I saw that the leafs were different colors . there were red trees too I thought that was strange. All the colors were like art colors.and it was cold when the the leafs were falling. This are some ways that fall is the best season. All the leafs change color, its not that cold to play, there's a lot of colors in the streets because of the leafs. This shows how the fall season is a scenic and how it is the best season ever. Another thing that I would like to point out is that 50 % of my family is that there favorite season is fall because they love the cold and like to see the kids play outside. What this means is that there many people that like summer, winter, and spring but most likely the fall is the chosen one.

I think fall is a great season because it’s a season when all the leaves change color and it’s the season when you can play in the leaves with friends and family while waiting for winter to kick in. It is also a scenic season because a season it’s a season where it isn’t to hot and isn’t to cold. According to a nightingale student “I like fall because it is a season when I get to be with my friends and just be with my friends during break”. I actually agree with this nightingale student, because it is when kids can be with their family and friends. Some kids are usually on break during the fall for 2 weeks or so. According to another nightingale student “fall is a wonderful season because it’s when all the leaves start to change color”. I think it is a beautiful as well to see the leaves change color because it’s like the world has changed its surroundings. That’s why I think fall is a scenic season.

Sometimes cold.According to 26 6th grade students they say that they prefer a hotter season than fall. If you get a lot of sunburns this can cause you a really serious problems like having cancer. ReplyDeleteFall is scenic, that’s one of the reasons its perfect. The leaves dropping is picturesque because you could watch them fall for hours and not get tired of it. For instance 75% of the autumn day I spend either raking leaves or wathing them. The other attractive thing about the autumn season is the color of the leaves. The leaves change color because of a chemical that makes it green, during the autumn though, the chemical starts to fade and they turn red, orange, brown, and yellow. 40% percent of the leaves are half colored, like red and yellow, which means that they still had some of the chemical left and did not turn completely yellow.

ReplyDeleteFall is the best season because it warm for the first time in months. All winter it was 30 degrees and lower. Finally its 60 degrees and up. People get to go outside and get a mini tan. You get to go to the beach again. According to one Nightingale student he likes spring because “it’s not too hot but not too cold”. You get the perfect warmth. You’re not burning up but you’re not freezing. It’s just perfect. Also a big reason for me is because my birthday is in spring so I have something to look forward to. 50% of children gain weight in the winter and 60% of those kids are able to lose it in the spring. So spring is a good time to lose weight because your body is exposed to the heat for the first time in months. Personally, I love spring

ReplyDeleteOne day I was inspired to sing in a competition against a few people at one at my aunt’s get together or something, but I was inspired because of the Eminem songs I listened to. I really don’t know why but I always feel like singing those songs when I’m feeling down or upset as a simpler way to say. I mean I’m actually at home writing this at this very moment, and telling the truth I’m listening to a few Eminem songs right now and like one Nickelback song too. You ever heard the song Stan by Eminem or the song Far Away by Nickelback? I didn’t win the competition but I did make second place so in a way I win huh? Well I guess in my way, but still I always practice like Katie Quick says funny right?

Fall is the best season because most people think that it is a hassel to carry heavy coats around when in winter but in Fall you just need a small jacket. Most people think its annoying that when its summer it is really hot and they can’t find a way to cool down but in Fall you are already cool downed and you just have to wear a small jacket. The janitor from the school says “That fall is the best season because it is when all the leaves start to fall it looks real nice.” I think Fall is the best season because I only have to wear a small jacket, the leaves start to fall down it is pleasant to just look at it, and its perfect for me to go outside and play a little bite.
